Liberal Nationals delivering for Healesville CFA

The Liberal Nationals will always support those who protect us.

A Liberal National Government will fund the construction of a new fire station in Healesville if elected this November.

Current trucks and appliances have outgrown the facility, the volunteers have no parking and there are no change rooms.

Given Labor’s long-term neglect, work still needs to be done to identify a suitable design for the new station and final construction details will be contingent on a design that fulfills the requirements of the CFA and also meets the response times for the Healesville community

The Liberal Nationals rebuilt or upgraded more than 250 CFA stations when last in government and we are committed to continuing our strong tradition of supporting the CFA and volunteers.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:

“Labor can’t be trusted to support volunteer firefighters and that includes investing in equipment and infrastructure.

What we have seen from the Andrews Government is a refusal to directly engage with and help our CFA volunteers.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish:

“In 2016 Leader of the Opposition Matthew Guy and I called on the Andrews Government to construct a new fire station but Daniel Andrews refused to provide any assistance.

No member of the Andrews Government has even visited the current fire station. We know it is no longer fit for purpose and we should already be progressing with a new station.”
