Liberal Nationals delivering for Officer CFA
The Officer Fire Brigade will receive a new medium pumper under an elected Liberal Nationals Government.
This announcement was made by Shadow Minister for Emergency Services and Member for Gembrook, Brad Battin to the Brigade’s members and families on Saturday night at their annual awards dinner.
The new pumper will replace the Brigade’s current pumper that is over 15 years old.
The 100% volunteer brigade has seen a 48% increase in their call outs since 2014 due to the population of Officer growing from 1,761 to 7,133 at the last census.
Given the dramatic urban growth in Officer, the local community will be serviced with a newer, more reliable vehicle and will greatly assist the Brigade getting to your home in an emergency.
It is important the Brigade and its volunteers have the best vehicles to assist them in protecting the growing community.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services and Member for Gembrook, Brad Battin:
“Volunteers work tirelessly to protect your home in an emergency. They never complain when their pager goes off at 2am, they never whine when called away from a family birthday. They never make a noise about the lack of sleep when attending their day job after a night of fighting fires.
To better protect our community the CFA volunteers must have the best trucks available, that is why a Matthew Guy led Liberal Nationals Government will deliver a new medium pumper to the Officer CFA.
This new medium pumper will equip Officer CFA to greater protect the growing community of Officer.”
