Liberal Nationals to support our volunteers in Frankston

The Liberal Nationals will always protect those who protect us.

An elected Liberal Nationals government will contribute $8 million towards the construction of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard building on the Frankston foreshore and include a boat refuge to enhance marine safety.

The new building and boat refuge will increase the Volunteer Coast Guard’s capacity to support the boating community and improve water safety on the bay.

The boat refuge will enable the safe launching of recreational boats and as well as provide a permanent mooring for the Coast Guards rescue boats.

The Australian Coast Guard has served and protected Victorian marine waterways for almost 60 years and remains a 100% volunteer association.

Despite Labor being in power for 15 of the last 19 years, Daniel Andrews and Labor have neglected the The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard’s current building, leaving it condemned, rendering the community vulnerable.

Comments attributable for the Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:

“Daniel Andrews has lost control of the CFA, it’s little wonder he has neglected the Australian Coast guard volunteers as well.  Only a Matthew Guy Liberal Nationals Government will ensure the Australian Coast Guard can keep up the great work protecting our communities with the best facilities.”

Comments attributable for the Candidate for Frankston, Michael Lamb:

“It is absolutely vital to our community that the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard is able to operate safely and effectively.

The rebuilding of this building allows for safer access to the water.”
