Labor choosing to take away choice for people with a disability in Bendigo
For a Premier against privatisation, Daniel Andrews sure does a lot of privatising.
According to Labor’s own logic, people with a disability in Bendigo now have less choice on care, following the Andrews Labor Government’s decision to privatise disability accommodation services.
Before the 2014 election, Labor promised Bendigo residents in community care homes would be “able to choose whether they remain in state-run care or prefer private residential care”.
On Tuesday, Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing Martin Foley announced private providers would “deliver disability accommodation and respite services currently operated by the Victorian Government”.
Daniel Andrews’ latest privatisation smacks of hypocrisy and fails people with a disability in Bendigo.
Time and time again Labor proves it’ll say anything to win, even if it means lying to Regional Victorians.
