More taxes for small business owners, higher electricity costs, but no help from Daniel Andrews
“The Andrews Labor Government is hammering small business owners with ten new and ever increasing taxes on top of soaring energy costs.
Small business is the backbone of our economy, employing hundreds of thousands of Victorians, and this government neglects them year after year.
Small businesses from all around the state have been telling me they need a government that is on their side and prepared to listen; but this budget is just another slap in the face for them.
Labor’s ill-conceived policies have driven higher electricity, water and land tax costs that are making running a small business even harder. The budget was an opportunity for Daniel Andrews to do something to relieve some of that cost pressure; but he again chose to ignore the problem.
This is a typical Labor budget; giving with one hand while taking away more with the other. Daniel Andrews’ so-called ‘payroll tax-cut’, announced for the second time, won’t even cover the increase of many business’s water rates.”
