Mr Melhem owes Victorians a full explanation of these latest allegations that he rorted his position as a union official for his own personal benefit.

Workers are entitled to ask how a union official who’s supposed to be standing up for their interests can accept expensive private overseas travel paid for by their employer.

Victorians workers are entitled to be angry if their union officials have comprised themselves by taking secret rorts or personal benefits.

Workers are entitled to be expect that union leaders will represent their interests rather than doing secret deals behind their backs.

These allegations cast a big shadow over Mr Melhem’s future.  Unless he can provide a full explanation, voters are entitled to ask how Premier Daniel Andrews can allow Mr Melhem to remain in Parliament as a Labor MP.
