We welcome today’s announcement as continuing the strong work of the Coalition in combatting the scourge of ice in our communities.
But we must remember that one of the first acts of the Andrews Government was to slash millions of dollars from specific programs that tackle the ice problem.
Daniel Andrews ripped nearly $3 million from community education forums on ice and shut down a $2 million community grants program.
Today he announced $1 million for frontline staff to deal with users of ice. But the Coalition delivered $3 million for the same thing. Is this another cut?
The fight against ice has bipartisan support, but Daniel Andrews’ record must be judged on his acts in cutting funding to ice programs.
