- Plus, increased wage payments of up to $286 million each year
- Overall, the estimated costs of the new public holidays outweigh the benefits.
Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Investment and Jobs, Craig Ondarchie:
“This is a damning report which reveals that Daniel Andrews’ plan will cost Victoria over $1 billion a year.
“This is Labor’s billion dollar blow to jobs and economic activity right across Victoria.
“Daniel Andrews has scrapped the East West Link and a $100 million tourism investment at Point Nepean. Now we have confirmation his public holiday plan comes with a $1 billion price tag.
“Once again, we see Daniel Andrews making reckless decisions that are bad for jobs and bad for investment in Victoria.”
