Acknowledging the Victims of Child Abuse
It’s important to acknowledge the courage of those victims who came before the landmark Victorian Parliamentary Betrayal of Trust Inquiry that I had the privilege to Chair as well as the Royal Commission.
Their immeasurable courage will save lives. Their legacy will be a safer Victoria for children.
Their harrowing stories provided the Committee a basis to make a range of recommendations that would assist in keeping children safe from abuse.
I am pleased that the current State Government have continued with the significant reforms and work started by the previous Liberal Nationals Government from the recommendations of that Inquiry and more recently the findings and recommendations from the Child Abuse Royal Commission.
