Funding boost for the Bowen Street Community Centre

The Liberal Nationals are committed to supporting our local community centres.

That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $30,000 towards facility upgrades enabling the Bowen Street Community Centre to allow more local families to continue using its services.

Bowen Street Community Centre is a hub of activity with programs from grandparent’s playgroup, childcare services, adult education courses and a number of community outreach programs.

The centre was created by the determination of local families in the early 1980’s and has been at its current location since 1991. Upgrades and renovations of these facilities have occurred over the last twenty years and the additional funding would ensure the centre is accessible for all users.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Families and Children, Georgie Crozier:

“Bowen Street Community Centre is a vital community service that provides much needed activities that are constantly evolving to serve community demand.

The Liberal Nationals appreciate the valuable contributions of community organisations like Bowen Street Community Centre who contribute to the important work of strengthening children and families within a vibrant and inclusive community setting.”

Comments attributable to Member for Hawthorn, John Pesutto:

“The funding for Bowen Street Community Centre is vital for our local families who use this facility.

The centre regularly fundraises to support its activities and the grant of $30,000 would help in their endeavours to support our local community members.

I am proud to be able to support this vital community organisation.”
