$130,000 to restore Glenferrie’s beauty

Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and crime and suburbs like Glenferrie suffering.

With more Graffiti and anti-social behaviour than ever before, Glenferrie is feeling the effects of unchecked population growth.

An elected Liberal Government will invest $130,000 to clean up Glenferrie Road and Glenferrie Railway Station and restore it to its former glory.

The clean-up will include the removal of graffiti at the railway station and provide beautification along Glenferrie road including installing planter boxes.

Glenferrie Road is a wonderful place to live, work and shop and shopping villages like Glenferrie are an iconic part of Melbourne’s identity.

It’s vital that we protect local shopping precincts and get back in control of anti-social behaviour and graffiti at our activity areas and railways stations.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Public Transport, David Davis:

“Daniel Andrews has let anti-social behaviour get out of control in and around railway stations and shopping strips like Glenferrie.”

John Pesutto MP will continue to make this area a priority for safety and will be a strong advocate for the business owners as they continue to grow.”

Comments attributable to Shadow Attorney General and Member for Hawthorn, John Pesutto:

“I will continue to advocate on behalf of local traders to ensure they are provided an environment to thrive in.

So far, I have worked hard to fix issues in the Glenferrie Road area, including removing antisocial behaviour from around the Glenferrie oval area, consulted with stakeholders regarding the improvement of the area around Glenferrie Station, and advocated for shop owners on a number of issues including blackouts.

This funding will be a fantastic improvement for the area and will be a massive drawcard for customers.”
