Everyone against Andrews on East West Link
Today, the Municipal Association Victoria’s (MAV) State Council has joined Infrastructure Victoria’s calls for the East West Link (EWL) to be built.
Infrastructure Victoria, Daniel Andrews’ handpicked infrastructure body, previously embarrassed the Premier by listing the EWL as a priority to be built.
After saying before the election that no compensation would need to be paid in tearing up the East West Link contract, Premier Daniel Andrews paid out $1.2 billion of taxpayers’ money to not build this vital road project.
The Parliament’s Public Accounts and Estimates hearing today has revealed a $3.1 billion blowout in Government infrastructure projects in the last year.
Victoria is currently the highest taxing state in Australia after Daniel Andrews introduced 11 new taxes.
Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Roads and Infrastructure, Ryan Smith:
After Daniel Andrews wasted $1.2 billion to not build a road, Victorians need to ask themselves: your taxes are up, your energy bills are up, crime is skyrocketing, but are we better off?
We need the East West Link and it seems everyone understands that except Daniel Andrews.
