Hon Terry Mulder MP
Terry Mulder’s retirement from Parliament closes the chapter on a career of dedicated service to his local community and Victoria.
Terry Mulder was first elected to the seat of Polwarth in 1999. He served in the shadow ministerial portfolios of Water Resources, Transport, Public Transport, Ports and Roads.
With the election of the Baillieu Government in December 2010, Terry was appointed to the critical role of Minister for Public Transport and Minister for Roads. He served in these portfolios throughout the term of the Coalition Government until November 2014.
Terry played a critical role in repairing Labor’s mismanagement of the Regional Rail Link project after a cost blowout of up to $1 billion threatened its future. His work on this major infrastructure project was recognised in 2014 when Infrastructure Partnerships Australia awarded the Regional Rail Link as Australia’s infrastructure project of the year.
During Terry’s service as Minister, he developed the most comprehensive public transport plan in Victoria’s history, including the East West Link, Melbourne Airport Link and the Melbourne Rail Link. Terry had a vision of better road and rail transport infrastructure to serve Victoria’s population which is growing by around 100,000 every year.
