Liberal Nationals to establish Victorian Government Business Office in Thessaloniki
Victorian Opposition Leader Matthew Guy has announced that if elected, a Liberal Nationals government will open a Victorian Government Business Office in Melbourne’s Greek sister city, Thessaloniki.
The $1.7 million investment will increase access to export markets and facilitate Victorian investment into the Balkan region and Turkey, as well as grow the Victorian economy by building relationships in Eastern Europe.
The establishment of the Victorian Government Business Office in Thessaloniki would recognize the immense contribution of the Hellenic Australian community to Victoria, providing a strong foundation for professional and business relationships to form and flourish.
These international links promote Victoria as a desirable destination to live, study, do business and visit, allowing all Victorians to benefit from the social, economic and business opportunities created by our diaspora communities.
Equally important is the need to have strategic business offices close to businesses in other parts of the world, providing the opportunity for direct dialogue between overseas business and the Victorian government.
