Liberal Nationals to upgrade Alfredton Primary School
The Liberal Nationals are committed to investing in schools to ease the local population squeeze and massive projected increases in enrolments around Victoria.
That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will commit $1 million towards upgrading learning facilities at Alfredton primary School.
This funding is will form part of the Liberal Nationals $500 million investment in government schools across the state.
Alfredton is a rapidly growing suburb of Ballarat and the local schools are feeling the squeeze of population growth.
Labor has been in government in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years, and has failed to provide for the school’s needs.
The Liberal Nationals will give parents a choice about their children’s education, by ensuring there is modern infrastructure at local schools.
This investment builds on the Liberals’ plan to get ahead of school infrastructure by also building schools at Lucas and Miners Rest.
Only the Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth and back Alfredton Primary School so that local students can get the very best education.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Liberal Party, Matthew Guy:
“Daniel Andrews and part time Education Minister James Merlino have ignored Alfredton Primary School’s needs.
This is further proof that the so called ‘education state’ slogan isn’t worth the numberplates it’s written on.
Only the Liberal Nationals have a plan to get back in control of the population squeeze and give parent’s the choice and children the best opportunities in their education.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Member for Ripon, Louise Staley:
“Labor have ignored the Ballarat community.
Only the Liberal Nationals understand that families in Ballarat need to have choice in education and their children deserve modern, 21st century facilities.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Buninyong, Andrew Kilmartin:
“Alfredton Primary School is a valuable part of our local community.
These upgraded facilities will make a big difference to local students, teachers and families.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Wendouree, Amy Johnson:
“Out of control population growth caused by the Andrews Labor Government’s lack of planning is placing enormous pressure on our schools like Alfredton Primary School.
The Liberal Nationals are committed to investing in schools to ease the local population squeeze.”
