Liberal Nationals to upgrade Mulgrave Reserve Pavilion

Suburban sporting clubs are the lifeblood of communities and the Liberal Nationals are committed to supporting local sporting clubs by investing in their facilities.

Mulgrave Reserve is a sporting and community gathering place, that’s why an elected Liberal Nationals government will contribute $200,000 towards the upgrade of its pavilion.

Local sporting clubs, like Mulgrave deserve better and that’s why the Liberal Nationals will invest in our local sporting clubs, not give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium like Daniel Andrews and Labor.

With increased female participation in sports like football and cricket and more population growth in our suburbs than ever before it’s essential these upgrades are made.

The Mulgrave Reserve Pavilion upgrade will include improving and extending the existing pavilion to include additional male and female change rooms, refurbish the kitchen/canteen, increase storage facilities, new meeting rooms and externally accessible public toilets.

Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy:

“If elected, Maree Davenport will make a great local MP and will fight for Mulgrave’s fair share of funding for important infrastructure and services like we’re doing here today at Mulgrave Reserve Pavilion.

“A government I lead won’t hand over millions of dollars to the AFL to spend on Etihad Stadium, our goal will be to prioritise funding for our suburban and country sports clubs.

Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Mulgrave, Maree Davenport:

“I have been working very closely with Matthew Guy and his team to help ensure that Mulgrave Reserve Pavilion gets the best facilities possible and today’s announcement will make that a reality.

“Mulgrave Reserve has made a huge contribution to participation in local community sport and it’s only fair that they receive the support they deserve.

“If I am elected to represent Mulgrave, I’ll ensure our hardworking community groups and sporting clubs get the funding they require.”
