Local boaties and recreational fishers deserve better

The Liberal Nationals have already announced their policy to return all proceeds of boating fees into improving the facilities for the boating and fishing community.

Daniel Andrews and Labor have ripped off the boating and fishing community for four years by not returning all boating revenue to the boating and fishing community. In 2016/17 the Andrews Labor Government returned just 11.6 per cent of the $27.7 million annual boating revenue on boating infrastructure.

The Liberal Nationals Blue Infrastructure Fund will invest in infrastructure like more boat ramps, jetties, navigational lighting and onshore facilities that improves access, enjoyment and protection to Victoria’s waterways.

In addition, a Liberal Nationals Government will abolish boat ramp parking and launching fees.

A Liberal Nationals Government will appoint the Victorian Ports Corporation Melbourne (VPCM) to manage marine infrastructure development in the state. The VPCM has the appropriate expertise to oversee and coordinate all planning, funding, construction and maintenance of marine infrastructure in Victoria. This is modelled on the NSW system.

After four years of neglect and failure to support them, how can Victoria’s boating and fishing community trust Daniel Andrews?

Only a Liberal Nationals Government will provide the best deal for Victoria’s boating and fishing community.
