Statement on Royal Commission into mental health

Daniel Andrews’ unplanned, unmanaged population growth is putting enormous pressure on critical services like mental health.

Since Daniel Andrews has been Premier, Victoria’s population has increased by around 500,000 people and at the same time he has cut community mental health funding by 17 per cent.

So not only has community mental health funding been cut under Daniel Andrews, Victoria has an extra half a million people sharing these reduced services.

Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and now we have more people sharing less mental health services.

If Daniel Andrews is serious about doing more for mental health, he will start by reversing his cuts and finding more funding to match the population growth that has occurred on his watch.
