O’Brien: Frankston Bowling Club

Thursday 7 June 2018

Frankston Bowling Club

Frankston Bowling Club is growing at a rapid rate with more than 30,000 people coming through the Club’s doors in any given year and only the Liberal Nationals will support local sports clubs

If elected, a Matthew Guy Government will contribute $217,000 towards a new synthetic green at Frankston Bowling Club.

The Club has an active community group that has already raised some of the funds required to contribute to the project.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:

“Michael Lamb has been doing extensive work in the local community to support the growth at Frankston Bowling Club and has advocated strongly for this funding.

“The Club has made a huge contribution to local bowls and it’s only fair that they receive the support they deserve.

“The Liberal Nationals will always put grass roots sport first, unlike the Labor Party which has spent two thirds of its sport budget on the AFL and elite sport.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Frankston, Michael Lamb:

“Frankston Bowling Club has a long and proud history of being an inclusive community club with diversity always being an important core element of its operating mission.

“A new synthetic green will ensure that Frankston Bowling Club can grow exponentially by bringing bowls to a more diverse group in the community above and beyond the 250 members it currently has.”

“If I am elected to represent Frankston, I’ll ensure our hardworking community groups and sporting clubs get the funding they require.”
