Funding facilities for Pakenham Little Athletics
Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and its hurting community sport in our local suburbs.
That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $90,000 towards upgrading facilities at the Toomuc Recreation Reserve.
This announcement builds upon the Liberal Nationals’ recent $195 million announcement of a Grassroots Sport Revival Fund to deliver the funding for local sporting facilities that our clubs and volunteers need.
Vital infrastructural improvements of the recreation reserve will enable the Club to successfully cater for its 300 junior athletes, in addition to providing benefits to other users of the facility.
The continued support of these clubs will enable more families to participate in sport, enhance the connectivity of local communities, and encourage a healthier lifestyle for everyone.
As Victoria’s population grows at an unprecedented rate, it is important that every person in our state has easy access to sporting facilities. The Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth and stand up for all Victorians, unlike the city-centric Andrews Labor Government.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“While Labor has been in office for 15 of the past 19 years, local sporting facilities such as the Toomuc Recreation Reserve have been badly neglected, and our local communities are left suffering with the consequences.
“Only a Liberal Nationals Government will get back in control of grassroots sport and provide our community sporting clubs with the facilities they need and deserve, so more families are able to participate in sport.”
Comments attributable to Member for Bass, Brian Paynter:
“The Liberal Nationals will support local sports, unlike Daniel Andrews who wants to give free kicks to the AFL to the tune of $225 million.
“It is vitally important that we provide this support to grassroots sporting clubs.”
