Ivanhoe Park set to score with new scoreboard
Grassroots local sporting clubs are the lifeblood of communities and the Liberal Nationals are committed to supporting these clubs by investing in their facilities.
If elected, a Liberal Nationals government will contribute $38,000 towards a new electronic scoreboard at Ivanhoe Park in Ivanhoe, the home of the Ivanhoe Sporting Club.
For over 100 years, Ivanhoe Park has been the home to local football and crickets clubs of all ages including the Ivanhoe Junior Football Club, Ivanhoe Amateur Football Club and the Ivanhoe Cricket Club, with the current Ivanhoe Football and Cricket club having a membership of over 1000 people.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind local sporting clubs who need our support.
These new facilities will create a modern environment for physical education and provide more opportunities to ensure local sporting clubs can keep up with population growth.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“Ivanhoe needs a strong representative like Monica Clark who will fight for more local funding.
“Monica is focusing on the issues that matter and she’s fighting for her local community and that’s why the Liberal Nationals are backing her policy to make Ivanhoe sporting groups the best they can be.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Ivanhoe, Monica Clark:
“I have been working closely with Matthew Guy and his team to help ensure that clubs at Ivanhoe Park get the best facilities possible and today’s announcement will make that a reality.
“If I am elected to represent Ivanhoe, I’ll ensure our hardworking community groups and sporting clubs get the funding they require.”
