Liberal Nationals commit to sport in Frankston
Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and its hurting community sport in our local suburbs.
As the population of Frankston grows, sporting clubs are having to turn away potential members and desperately need investment to cater for their growing needs.
That’s why the Liberal Nationals will contribute $10 million towards the development of a Multipurpose Indoor Stadium at Jubilee Park.
This announcement builds upon the Liberal Nationals’ recent $195 million announcement of a Grassroots Sport Revival Fund to deliver the funding for local sporting facilities that our clubs and volunteers need.
The continued support of these clubs will enable more families to participate in sport, enhance the connectivity of local communities, and encourage a healthier lifestyle for everyone.
As Victoria’s population grows at an unprecedented rate, it is important that every person in our state has easy access to sporting facilities.
The Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth and stand up for all Victorians, unlike the city-centric Andrews Labor Government.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“With Victoria’s growing population, we must get back in control of sports infrastructure funding and ensure everyone has access to great sporting facilities.
If it’s a choice between handing over millions of taxpayers’ dollars to the AFL or spending that money on suburban and country sports clubs, the Liberal Nationals will choose community sports every single time.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Frankston, Michael Lamb:
“This is great result for the Frankston community.
As a cop in Frankston, I know how beneficial it is for children and teenagers to have a place to come and be able to play sport in a supportive team environment.”
