Liberal Nationals deliver major upgrade for Ivanhoe sporting clubs
The Liberal Nationals are committed to supporting local sporting clubs by investing in their facilities.
If elected, a Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $300,000 to building change rooms at the West Ivanhoe Sporting Club.
Seddon Reserve, Ivanhoe is home to various sporting groups, including: Ivanhoe West Junior Football Club, Ivanhoe West Amateur Football club, the Ivanhoe West Cricket club and the Ivanhoe West Netball club.
Currently, there are no male or female change rooms at the popular sporting ground, which makes it difficult for the almost 400 members.
With a high level of population growth in the Ivanhoe electorate, clubs such as these desperately need upgrades to keep up with membership demands.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind cash-strapped local sporting clubs who desperately need our support.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“Monica Clark has been doing extensive work in the local community to support the growth at Seddon Reserve and has advocated strongly for this funding.
“The Liberal Nationals will always put grass roots sport first, unlike the Labor Party which has spent two thirds of its sport budget on elite sport.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Ivanhoe, Monica Clark:
“Sporting clubs in Ivanhoe have a strong sense of community connection.
“I have worked tirelessly with community leaders to deliver this funding and if I’m elected as Member for Ivanhoe, I will keep working hard and keep delivering.”
