Liberal Nationals to upgrade Croydon South Football Club
An elected Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $25,000 towards upgrading the Croydon South Football Club’s facilities at Cheong Park, Croydon South.
The funding boost will allow the club to extend their existing cool room, purchase a new sound system and refurbish the kitchen, improving the Club’s ability to cater for players, members and visitors, as well as hiring out the clubrooms for functions.
The clubrooms are well used by local sporting clubs, including Croydon South Football Club and Croydon South Cricket Club, who have a combined number of over 500 members and more than 1000 supporters.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind local sporting clubs who desperately need our support.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“David Hodgett has been doing extensive work in the local community to support the growth at Croydon South Football Club and has advocated strongly for this funding.
“The Club has made a huge contribution to local school sport and it’s only fair that they receive the support they deserve.”
Comments attributable to Member for Croydon, David Hodgett:
“This funding will improve the facilities used by players and visitors alike, and will help the club to cater for an increased number of patrons, as well as supporting their members.
“Our local sporting clubs are a vital part of our community. The Liberal Nationals are proud to support them with this funding pledge that will help ensure their facilities are up-to-date and up to standard.”
