Major upgrade for Edithvale-Aspendale Sporting Club
The Liberal Nationals are committed to supporting local sporting clubs by investing in their facilities.
If elected, a Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $3 million towards much needed facilities at the Regents Parks Reserve. The new home of the Edithvale – Aspendale Sporting Club will feature changing rooms for both men and women, a training and medical support space , as well as multi-purpose meeting and function rooms.
With a high level of population growth in the Mordialloc electorate, clubs such as these desperately need upgrades to keep up with membership demands.
Players and supporters of the Edithvale-Aspendale Sporting Club, Netball Club, Cricket Club, Tennis Club and Football Club will all benefit from this investment.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind cash-strapped local sporting clubs who desperately need our support.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“Tim Richardson has backed Labor’s decision to gift the AFL – the richest sporting organisation in the country – $225 million at the expense of clubs like Edithvale-Aspendale.
Mordialloc needs a strong representative like Geoff Gledhill who will fight for more local funding.
Geoff is focusing on the issues that matter and he’s fighting for his local community and that’s why the Liberal Nationals are backing his policy to make Edithvale-Aspendale Sporting Club the best it can be.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Mordialloc, Geoff Gledhill:
“Joint sporting clubs like these provide those in Mordialloc with a strong sense of community connection.
I have worked tirelessly with community leaders to deliver this funding and if I’m elected as Member for Mordialloc, I will keep working hard and keep delivering.”
