Commonwealth adopts Victorian Liberal Nationals victims compensation policy
Under Daniel Andrews, victims of crime are ignored and struggle to get fair compensation.
A Liberal Nationals Government led by Matthew Guy will put victims first in our justice system.
That is why the Victorian Liberal Nationals welcome the Commonwealth Government’s announcement to adopt the policy proposed by Opposition Leader Matthew Guy last year to give victims of crime access to criminals’ superannuation.
Last year, the Liberal Nationals announced a policy to adopt a number of recommendations from the Victorian Law Reform Commission’s inquiry into the criminal trial process. This included giving victims a real voice in our justice system and improving access to compensation.
We need to ensure our justice system prioritises the rights victims and makes the process as simple as possible because after enduring the horrific trauma and loss of a loved one, they deserve nothing less.
Victims deserve more say and influence and under a Matthew Guy led government that is exactly what they’ll get.
