Labor Rorts legal fees referred to Victorian Auditor General

The Liberal Nationals will write to the Victorian Auditor General requesting an investigation into the true cost of the legal fees incurred defending the Labor Rorts scandal.

Daniel Andrews has so far refused to reveal the excessive legal costs defending the Labor MPs who rorted at least $380,000 of taxpayers’ money.

The Labor rorts for votes scandal is one of the most significant scandals in Victorian political history and we intend to get to the bottom of it.

If Daniel Andrews wants to hide from Victorians what has been wasted and rorted by his government, then it’s time to stop asking nicely.

Yesterday, the Liberal Nationals announced we will move to establish a Legislative Council select committee to investigate the full extent of Labor’s rorts.

There are too many unanswered questions regarding the extent lower house MPs were involved, the full costs rorted and spent in legal fees and what Daniel Andrews knew.

The findings of the Ombudsman investigation are just the tip of the iceberg.
