Liberal Nationals to invest in classrooms at St Michael’s Parish Primary School

Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth in Victoria and it’s putting enormous strain on our local schools.

That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will provide a $400,000 grant towards two new classrooms at St Michael’s Parish Primary School.

This funding announcement builds on the Liberal Nationals’ $400 million commitment to upgrade and build new Catholic and independent schools across Victoria.

Labor has been in government in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years and in that time, St Michael’s Parish Primary School and the local community has been left badly neglected.

These two new classrooms will allow St Michael’s to grow and continue to service the needs and expectations of the school and community.

The Liberal Nationals will always support our local schools and by investing in upgrades at St Michael’s Parish PS, the Traralgon community can start to get some relief from the population squeeze.

Comments attributable to Shadow Attorney-General and former student of St Michael’s Parish, John Pesutto:

“As a former student I’m proud of all this school has achieved and I know how much they will welcome this funding.

Daniel Andrews has lost control of funding in local schools and the result is situations like this, where students don’t even have enough classrooms to learn in.

Only the Liberal Nationals are committed to ensuring our schools receive the very best educational facilities.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Morwell, Dale Harriman:

“Today’s announcement means that St Michael’s will be able to ensure that its existing teaching and learning areas, as well as these new classrooms can increase student capacity at the school.

This is a critical investment that students and the St Michael’s school community will benefit from in the years to come.”

Comments attributable to The Nationals Candidate for Morwell, Sheridan Bond:

“St Michael’s is growing, but local facilities aren’t keeping up with demand.

We’ll deliver a brighter future for students at St Michael’s by investing in new classrooms, as well as working to lift literacy and numeracy standards for all primary school children in the Valley.”
