Liberals to upgrade Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will provide $150,000 towards upgrading the carpark at Sakyamuni Sambuddha Vihara, the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple in Berwick.

The upgrade will seal the carpark at the temple which is often muddy during winter and dusty during summer.

The extension to the carpark will assist the temple in continuing their outreach programs and community engagement programs.

Only the Liberal Nationals are committed to Victoria’s diverse Sri Lankan-Australian community.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism, Inga Peulich:

“Victorians of Sri Lankan background have made a remarkable contribution to our state.

The Liberal Nationals understand the importance of these cultural benefits to the local community, and are willing to support it by ensuring that everything is done to enhance the extensive contribution from our Sri Lankan community to Victoria.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Narre Warren South, Susan Serey:

“The Sri Lankan community are a big part of the Casey community. It is an honour to be able to assist the temple to continue their good work.

I’m glad to be a part of a Liberal team, led by Matthew Guy, who continually supports our multicultural groups.
