New home-base for Lakeside Pakenham Scouts

With population out of control under Daniel Andrews, our scout and guide halls are being neglected and failing to keep up with local population growth.

Our scouts deserve better and that’s why a Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $600,000 towards a new scout hall for Pakenham Lakeside Scouting Group.

Scouting provides adventure, challenge and friendship while teaching life and leadership skills to children across the world. Scouts are often involved in service projects that bring benefit to their whole community and they learn to play a constructive role in society.

Despite Labor being in power for 15 of the last 19 years, Daniel Andrews and Labor have neglected the Lakeside Pakenham Scouts current building.

The Liberal Nationals will always support the great work of Scouts Victoria.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Young Victorians, Steph Ryan:

“Scout halls need our help. We want to support scouts and guides because they give young people great skills for life.

Brian Paynter has been doing extensive work with his local scouts and guides to help improve the conditions of the hall and encourage young people in the community to get involved.

Only a Liberal Nationals Government will provide a safe, modern and comfortable environment for cubs, scouts, venturers and rovers to enjoy their scouting activities.”

Comments attributable to Member for Bass, Brian Paynter:

“Scout halls are used by a wide range of community, social and school groups, with more than 20,000 scouts in Victoria. This investment will deliver a secure place for the members, as they are currently using a school gymnasium.

I will ensure our enthusiastic and committed scouts will continue to get the support they deserve.”
