Smith: $1 million for Wonga Park Primary School

Thursday 16 August 2018

$1 million for Wonga Park Primary School

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $1 million towards the upgrade of Wonga Park Primary School facilities.

With growing student numbers, Wonga Park Primary has no area where students can meet for assembly or other events, without uncomfortably cramming those students into the senior school building.

The funding will enable Wonga Park Primary School to enclose their current shelter covering the basketball courts, allowing for the school to use it as a hall or community space during inclement weather.

Only the Liberals Nationals will back Wonga Park Primary School, so that children will be able to get the education they deserve, as well as developing their skills and talents.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Under a Guy Government, the students and teachers at Wonga Park Primary School will no longer be treated as second class citizens, while schools in the Education Minister’s own electorate get preferred treatment.

The Liberal Nationals are committed to redeveloping Wonga Park Primary School to give local students every chance they need to pursue a quality education.”

Comments attributable to Member for Warrandyte, Ryan Smith:

“I am delighted that these funds have been secured for the students, families and staff of Wonga Park Primary School.

The Andrews Labor Government has ignored schools in the Warrandyte electorate for four long years. This funding commitment means that students will now be able to enjoy the facilities they deserve.”
