Banyule Primary School students to benefit from upgrade under Liberal Nationals

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will fund $8.6 million towards stage two of the Banyule Primary School master plan.

With 700 students currently enrolled at the school, parents and students at Banyule Primary are suffering from the current state of the facilities.

The funding will replace the outdated administration building which currently houses administrative offices, classrooms and a music room; replace one dilapidated classroom and a portable classroom.

Labor has been in government in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years, and its long-term neglect has meant this school has not kept up with local population growth.

Only the Liberal Nationals are committed to ensuring students have the 21st century facilities they deserve.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Out of control population growth in our suburbs is placing enormous pressure on our schools basic needs.

A Liberal Nationals Government, together with Monica Clark will give Banyule Primary School the modern facilities they so desperately need and rightly deserve.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Ivanhoe, Monica Clark:

“All students should have access to the very best facilities and Labor has ignored Banyule Primary and not committed to stage two of their master plan.

The Liberal Nationals will upgrade Banyule Primary School and give students the best opportunities to learn in a modern learning environment.”
