Daniel Andrews keeps the politics in infrastructure
Daniel Andrews promised that his establishment of Infrastructure Victoria would “take the politics out of infrastructure”.
The government’s response to Infrastructure Victoria’s 30 year plan shows that politics in infrastructure under this hypocritical Premier is alive and well.
Far from accepting what the Special Minister of State describes as “a year-long conversation with communities across the state”, Daniel Andrews has instead failed to fully support nearly 70 per cent of the recommendations made.
While the government made much of community input into this 30 year vision, the reality is that the vast majority of that input has been sidelined with weasel words like “Supported in Principle” and “Partly Supported”.
These words condemn these community-led ideas to political never-land, proving once again that Daniel Andrews will always turn a deaf ear to Victorians’ ideas and concerns.
Victorians have a clear choice at the next election – an infrastructure plan under Daniel Andrews which only supports his bid for re-election, or a serious vision to accommodate a growing population for the benefit of the whole state under a Matthew Guy led government.
