Liberal Nationals commit $9 million for major rebuild of Rowville Secondary College
A Liberal Nationals Government will commit $9 million for major rebuild of facilities at Rowville Secondary College’s Western Campus.
Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and schools are failing to keep up with this growth in enrolments.
Rowville Secondary College – the only high school in the suburb of Rowville – is in urgent need of a major rebuild to provide better educational facilities for local students
The $9 million project will rebuild classrooms and other learning areas at Rowville Secondary College’s Western Campus, which have been terribly neglected under the current Labor government.
The school’s requests for assistance to fix major building defects such as dry rot and damp from faulty gutters and drains, have been ignored by Daniel Andrews and the school has received no capital funding from the current Labor government.
Parents want to send their children to decent, safe, well-maintained schools, and students deserve to be able to go to a local school that’s in 21st century condition.
Only the Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth by investing in Rowville Secondary College.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:
“Rowville Secondary College is the largest provider of secondary school education in Rowville. This school community urgently needs new facilities to make sure local students have good quality, safe and well-maintained classrooms.
Rowville Secondary College last received funding for classroom upgrades under the Liberal Nationals in 2014, and only the Liberal Nationals are committed to rebuilding Rowville Secondary College.”
Comments attributable to Member for Rowville, Kim Wells:
“Parents in the Knox community are keen to see their children have the best education possible and they should be able to send their children to a safe, well-maintained school with updated facilities in their local area.
The Andrews Labor Government has ignored schools in the Rowville electorate for four long years. This funding commitment means that students will now be able to enjoy the facilities they deserve.
Our investment in rebuilding Rowville Secondary College will ensure Rowville students have access to modern, safe, well-maintained facilities for years to come.”
