Liberal Nationals commit to Mordialloc Secondary College
An elected Matthew Guy led Liberal Nationals Government will commit $9.5 million to build a new Year 8 Learning Centre, Senior Level Hub and upgrade the staff administration offices.
This funding will allow Mordialloc Secondary College to plan and upgrade its leaning spaces and administrative areas to increase its enrolment numbers to approximately 1400 students.
There are currently 800 students at the college and this funding will allow for more educational opportunities to be provided to the local community and will take the pressure of other local secondary colleges.
The Andrews Labor Government has continued to ignore the school’s infrastructure needs, making a last minute election pledge, despite being in Government 15 out of the last 19 years.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:
“Mordialloc Secondary College has an outstanding reputation for quality education and it isn’t fair the school community has such a long list of maintenance needs and upgrades.
The Liberal Nationals are committed to redeveloping Mordialloc Secondary College and give local students every chance to pursue a quality education.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Mordialloc, Geoff Gledhill:
“Mordialloc Secondary is a very high achieving school with a strong school community. It faces continuing growth in its numbers due to the quality education it delivers and due to a number of residential developments in the local area.
The project can wait no longer. I am delighted that a Liberal Nationals Government will support Mordialloc Secondary and the local community by providing this much needed infrastructure funding.”
