Liberal Nationals to build new undercover area for Epsom Primary School

Daniel Andrews has ignored the specific needs of the students at Epsom Primary School.

That’s why a Liberal Nationals Government will fund the construction of a new undercover play area for students at Epsom Primary School.

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will provide $100,000 toward the construction of a roof structure over the school’s existing basketball/netball court, providing a sheltered area for students and staff.

Despite a recently completed upgrade of facilities, the students at Epsom Primary School are still without an undercover outdoor play area to protect them from the elements.

Presently, students are forced to remain indoors at recess and lunch times during inclement weather and outdoor PE classes and school assemblies are cancelled. The proposed facility will allow these activities to be held all year round no matter the weather.

Only the Liberal Nationals will build an all-weather facility that will finally allow the students of Epsom Primary School the ability to play outdoors regardless of the weather conditions.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Daniel Andrews’ treatment of Epsom Primary School shows his ‘education state’ slogan isn’t worth the number plates it’s printed on.

Only the Liberal Nationals will give students what they need by investing in an all-weather facility at Epsom Primary School.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Bendigo East, Ian Ellis:

“Epsom Primary School has needed an undercover outdoor play area for some time, and now with the upgrade to the school facilities, the School Council and Principal list an undercover play area as a high priority.

The school is growing, as the local population increases community infrastructure needs to keep up with this growth.

I have been working hard with the school council and staff to secure this funding and I am proud to help deliver this project for the entire Epsom community.”

Comments attributable to The Nationals Candidate for Bendigo East, Gaelle Broad:

“Epsom is a growing area, and we need to ensure that school infrastructure keeps pace with population growth.

The undercover outdoor space will provide a great venue for school gatherings, and enable students to get outside and get active all year round.”
