Liberal Nationals to fund upgrades at Auburn South Primary School

The Liberal Nationals are committed to investing in education facilities in our suburbs to ease the local population squeeze.

That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will fund a $4.3 million upgrade of facilities for students and teachers at Auburn South Primary School.

Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and it’s putting enormous strain on our local schools.

These building works will fix major structural issues in the main office building and update the Year 5 and 6 classrooms into newer, more modern and collaborative learning spaces.

This funding will also allow for the upgrade of the school’s basketball courts which is a major income stream for the school.

Melbourne’s population is now 5 million people and growing at an average of around 2,700 a week and it’s putting enormous pressure on schools in suburbs like Auburn South.

Labor has been in government in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years, and has failed to provide for the school’s needs.

Only the Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth and back the iconic Auburn South Primary School, so that local children will get the very best education.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Out of control population growth caused by the Andrews Labor Government’s lack of planning is placing enormous pressure on our schools.

Daniel Andrews’ treatment of Auburn South Primary shows his ‘Education State’ slogan isn’t worth the number plates it’s printed on.

Only the Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth by investing in our local schools.”

Comments attributable to Member for Hawthorn, John Pesutto:

“I am standing up for the teachers, parents and students at Auburn South Primary School.

Parents, students and staff here at Auburn South have been neglected by the Andrews Labor Government and have had to learn and work in substandard classrooms for far too long.

The choice at the next election is clear: out of control population growth from the Andrews Labor Government or an elected Liberal Nationals Government who will get back in control of education and ease the population squeeze.”
