Liberal Nationals to invest in local schools

Tinternvale Primary School’s prep to grade 3 playground was condemned and has been out of bounds all year.

An elected Liberal Nationals government will contribute $20,000 towards replacing the old playground and a new shade cover.

Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth in our suburbs and it is putting enormous strain on local schools like Tinternvale Primary, meaning extras like playground equipment is going unfunded.

The Liberal Nationals will ensure there is enough funding for local schools, and get ahead of school infrastructure like classrooms, halls and play equipment.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Daniel Andrews has lost control of funding in local schools and the result is situations like this, where a playground is condemned and children have nowhere to play.

How would you feel if your prep, grade 1 or grade 2 went to a school with nowhere to play? It’s a sad state, not an education state.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Member for Bayswater, Heidi Victoria:

“It’s pretty terrible that the kids are watching the old treated pine playground just sitting there rotting away, while other schools have fun, modern playgrounds.

Under a Liberal government they’ll have a beautiful brand new playground with the most modern and fun equipment.”

Comments attributable to Liberal Member for Ringwood, Dee Ryall:

“Play equipment is so important in giving kids the opportunity to burn off energy, have fun and make friends.”
