Liberals to rebuild Glen Waverley Primary School

The Victorian Liberals are committed to ensuring our schools receive the very best educational facilities in our suburbs to ease the local population squeeze.

That’s why a Victorian Liberal Government will commit $6 million towards stage one of the Glen Waverley Primary School rebuild project.

This funding announcement builds on the Victorian Liberals’ commitment in 2014 to fund the Glen Waverley Primary School rebuild project.

The facilities at the school are in poor condition and are continually outlined in maintenance audit reports year after year.

Despite the lack of quality facilities, Glen Waverley Primary School has continued to grow and provide high quality, education opportunities for local families.

Labor has been in government in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years, and has failed to provide for the school’s needs.

By investing in upgrades at Glen Waverley Primary School, locals can start to get some relief from the population squeeze.

Only the Victorian Liberals will get back in control of population growth and back Glen Waverley Primary School, so that the children will get the very best education.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Out of control population growth caused by the Andrews Labor Government’s lack of planning is placing enormous pressure on our schools.

The Victorian Liberals have a plan to get back in control of education and ease the population squeeze.

The students, teachers and families of Glen Waverley Primary School deserve modern facilities and only a Victorian Liberal Government will make this happen.

Comments attributable to Liberal Member for Mount Waverley, Michael Gidley:

“When the Andrews Labor Government cancelled the GWPS rebuild project in 2015, our community was devastated. Since then, I’ve never stopped fighting for the GWPS rebuild project to be reinstated for the future of our kids and our area.

After four years of standing up for our community, I’m delighted that if a State Liberal Government is elected at this year’s state election, we will invest $6 million to undertake stage one of the GWPS rebuild project.”
