Eltham residents will be unpleasantly surprised to learn that the Andrews Labor Government has said today that the North East Link might be built as a fully elevated road.

In Public Accounts & Estimates hearings today, Minister for Roads, Luke Donnellan, and his departmental officials confirmed that the option of a fully elevated road was a live option when it comes to building the North East Link.

Tunnelling options for the routes under consideration have long been accepted as the best way to overcome the many societal and environmental challenges that major road infrastructure projects face.

The notion that the North East Link project would not include a tunnel will come as a great shock to local residents as well as those living in the suburbs where the East West Link will inevitably be built.

Building Sky Roads is entirely consistent with the behaviour of this divisive, bullying premier.
