Southwick: Daniel Andrew’s Go-It-Alone Approach Leaves Victorians in the Dark

Daniel Andrew’s Go-It-Alone Approach Leaves Victorians in the Dark

Labor continues to condemn Victorians to higher power prices by stubbornly refusing to sign the National Energy Guarantee (NEG).

Daniel Andrews should have learned his lesson when he forced Hazelwood to close, slashing 22% of Victorians power supply and causing prices to jump by 85% in the last year alone.

Under Labors ideological energy policies, everyone is paying more for an essential service with Victoria now reliant on Queensland and NSW to keep the lights on and our heaters going.

Daniel Andrews needs to stop playing games with Victoria’s energy supply and get behind a national approach to energy affordability, reliability and sustainability.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources, David Southwick MP:

“Daniel Andrews needs to drop his ideological VRET and get behind a national emissions reduction plan.

“Labor’s go-it-alone approach to energy will see Victorians continue to pay skyrocketing prices for power and remain reliant on other states just to keep the lights on.

“Under Daniel Andrews, energy prices are up meaning Victorians will be paying more to heat their homes and keep the lights on this winter.”
