Private companies step in to save Labor

Private companies like RACV are now stepping in to solve the problem Daniel Andrews created when he closed Hazelwood.

On top of Labor paying big businesses to switch off, RACV is now asking community members to do the Government’s job and turn off residential appliances during peak periods to avoid blackouts.

When Daniel Andrews shut down Hazelwood he removed 1600MW from the grid, however this initiative is expected to free up only 143-200MW.

This comes following thousands of households being left in heat and darkness over Sunday and Monday.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Energy and Resources, David Southwick MP:

“It’s ironic that Daniel Andrews blames private companies for Victoria’s energy crisis, but then expects them to pick up the pieces of Labor’s mess.

“Under Daniel Andrews Victorians are paying more, but getting less reliable energy supply.”
