Labor’s desal disaster rips off customers

Daniel Andrews is ripping off water customers, making them pay for water we don’t need and letting Aquasure out of its contracted obligations.

Melbourne water customers already pay around $600 million every year to Aquasure in service payments.

The Andrews Government claim their so-called minimum 15GL order won’t cost customers because the Government has sold off surplus energy certificates.

Daniel Andrews should be using this revenue to reduce customer’s water bills, not giving it to a company that already gets $600 million a year from Melbourne families.

Daniel Andrews should read the company’s website, which clearly states it contracted to ‘operate and maintain the plant, seawater tunnels, pipeline, and ecological reserve’ until 2039*.
