Riordan puts Terang harness in the driver’s seat
If elected, a Liberal Nationals Government will contribute $1.1 million towards the upgrade of Terang Harness Racing Club.
The upgrade will include the development of a community hub which will be integrated into the Racing Club’s official’s rooms and the redevelopment of the current horse stables.
The well attended racing precinct will benefit the local economy if upgraded and better facilities will also allow the space to be used for functions and provide a better visitor experience.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind our local sporting and racing clubs who desperately need our support.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Nationals, Peter Walsh:
“Richard Riordan has been doing extensive work with the local community to secure this upgrade for Terang Harness Racing Club and has advocated strongly for this funding.
A Liberal Nationals Government will continue to support proactive racing clubs with investments that benefit the club and wider community.”
Comments attributable to Member for Polwarth, Richard Riordan:
“This is going to be an exciting centre that our whole community can use and be proud of, and it’s going to be a great facility for our local harness racing stars, young and old, for years to come.
The Liberal Nationals believe in backing projects that local communities have identified as priorities and we agree that upgrading Terang Harness Racing Club will help make Polwarth a great place to live and visit for people far and wide.”
