Liberal Nationals to upgrade Ballan Recreation Reserve
Country sporting clubs are the lifeblood of communities and the Liberal Nationals are committed to supporting local sporting clubs by investing in their facilities.
That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals government will contribute $1 million towards the upgrade of Ballan Recreation Reserve.
The upgrade will include improving and extending the existing football oval and redeveloping the netball and tennis courts.
With increased female participation in sports like football and more population growth in our suburbs than ever before it’s essential these upgrades are made.
Local sporting clubs, like Ballan deserve better and that’s why the Liberal Nationals will invest in our local sporting clubs, not give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium like Daniel Andrews and Labor.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:
“Andrew Kilmartin has been doing extensive work to support the growth of local grassroots clubs and has advocated strongly for this funding.
“The Liberal Nationals will always put grass roots sport first, unlike the Labor Party which has spent two thirds of its sport budget on the AFL and elite sport.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Buninyong, Andrew Kilmartin:
“I have been working very closely with Matthew Guy and his team to help ensure that Ballan Recreation Reserve gets the best facilities possible and today’s announcement will make that a reality.
“Ballan has made a huge contribution to participation in local community sport and it’s only fair that they receive the support they deserve.
“If I am elected to represent Buninyong, I’ll ensure our hardworking community groups and sporting clubs get the funding they require.”
